TBH, this question seemed to be being asked more about 6 years ago, imho
it seems that unnecessary usage of flash (and java, and other
weird+wonderful plugins that shouldn't be used for content that could be
done in plain html) has dropped very much in the past few years and
people are getting their sites working in more browsers without plugins.
