[ALUG] Avast anti virus software

Hi
Thanks Richard tried all of your suggestions, no success so filed in 
waste bin.I assume file must be corrupt in some way. Can anybody 
recommend a virus checker that works with  Ubuntu, Looked at AVG  but no 
Ubuntu version.
