Yes I've seen that but it will boot and run from a Live CD on that  
interface and I have seen comments from other Linux users about trying  
to get CD/DVD drives working on that interface. So I'm not sure quite  
what it means.

The Intel interface had the DVD drive on it and the two hard drives on  
the JMicron so that should satisfy that requirement.

It would be useful if I could trace the problem to something that I had  
done. Then, at least, I would have a satisfactory explanation.
