Can't really help much (I hate Evolution!) but it sounds like an
Evolution problem. It's doing the right thing by leaving the files on
the server but it's failing to recognise them again, next time around.
I'd think it unlikely that your ISP's server or your operating system
(Linux) would be interfering with the mails.
Fiddle with the account settings in Evolution and then try Googling,
is my advice!
