Hi Tracy
Always nice to see a new face in place of the hairy old ones ;)

I am now at the stage (ok have been for a while) where I would like to run Fedora from the Terminal window but am finding the commands difficult to structure.
I'd suggest a good O'Reilly book on bash. Sadly the Alug library doesn't have such a thing at the moment.
As it so happens, I have a copy of "Learning the Bash Shell" (and the korn shell) - If you are local, I can loan either out.. Another book well worth grabbing is the Linux Cookbook by Schroder, also from O'Reilly - It covers a number of simple topics as well as the more advanced without treating the reader as an idiot or assuming a high level of expertise.
Add to this that my pc is at the moment dead (Motherboard failure)
Nasty, If your friends motherboard turns out not to be suitable then it may be worth posting what you need to the Lug..some of us hoard a bit of kit and aren't adverse to exchanging it for beer (or money).
I have a couple of old motherboards kicking around here - Depending on processor/memory, swapping for a beer is a definite..
Regards, Paul.
