.co.uk comes via Nominet, which is a not entirely insane registrar.

.com, however, there'll be differences on depending on which particular
registrar they're using and the quantity of domains registered via them
- there's a discount scheme etc. Mythic use OpenSRS for .com
registrations, and the pricing matches to covering our costs.

Also, all types of domain are not the same price. See, for instance, the
pricing for .xxx domain names, or .io...
