Tom, Are you using an internal or external adaptor?
I have installed and used both under mandrake and I know very little about these things so it can't be too hard. Maybe I was just lucky for once :-)
An external TA is set up just like an external modem so that is relatively easy. An internal card may be more difficult - depends if it is supported or how much hacking about you want to do. I made sure that I bought one with linux support - Asuscom ISDNlink 128 from Andrews and Arnold. (Less than 30 quid for the adaptor plus a forty pound rebate on HH installation. Yes, you did read that right - a genuine bargain).
As for configuring for isdn dialling etc, there is some very helpful advice on one of the mandrake support sites - sorry but offhand I can't recall which one but it should be linked to from the main mandrake page.
Freesco - out of the tin - only supports external TAs for ISDN unless you really want to get your hands dirty and adapt it to your own needs. Beyond me which is why I then moved to an external TA. For adsl you would just install two NICs in the firewall box and set up freesco accordingly.

I've got ISDN at home which I normally access through my NT box as I've never managed to get it to work under RH7.2/Mandrake/Suse or others. My NT box self destructed last nite (well its 9 year old harddrive did) so I wish to get up on ISDN. I've hunted high and low for FAQ's etc but the only two I've found dont seem to work. Better still does Freesco have support for ISDN? Or maybe ADSL cos I might upgrade so I Consume theneighbourhood Cheers Tom
