Just a quick question for RedHatNetwork Users- anyone had any probs updating the kernel via rhnsd? I'm usiong the latest version of that... my only outdated packages are the kernel and XFree86....
No problems updating the kernel at all here. However, I found the stock 2.4.9-21 kernel is a bit unstable for my system - I'm happily using VMWare 3.0 under KDE one moment and then the whole machine locks-up. Using the old stock kernel 2.4.7 works, but having hand-rolled 2.4.17 from kernel.org, everything is fine. The XFree86 and KDE updates installed and work just fine - no problems to report with those, and I'm using a bog standard Intel 810 integrated graphics chipset.
(Yes, I'm scared it may fsck up, I only have a dial-up!)
As the imortal Douglas Adams once wrote, Don't Panic! (in big friendly letters).
