But I did manage to find the file it was looking for following your suggestion. I pointed it at the server having looked for it using this machine - not a Linux or Windows box btw but that's where the iso images are - and then found that it was looking for mdkinst_stage2.bz2 and so I could then enter the path. It's currently 'Loading program into memory' as I type this, so many thanks.
Ahh good stuff, I hope you are patient.
I did a SuSE box using the same method the other day and it took about half a day to install all the packages.
