I have been playing with balsa, just installed the latest version (ish 1.0 but with pspell libarys only weeks old). I was not impressed as I could get no sign of threading in the folders, or for that matter the make new folders for storing old emails.
I am an ex netscape mail user but it became intolerable the steady increase in spam and my increasing insecurity about having my browser attached to my mail system. Also as my mails built up I found netscape grind to a halt.
Next I tried Kmail which looked good but was unreligable. It is most important to me not to lose old emails or have emails duplicate them selves kmail did this.
Eventially after some effort I was recomended XFmail posibly the most stable linux client I have used (pine seemed quite stable and elm stank so much I cant comment on stability)F mail is posibly the ugliest GUI email client I am yet to use (elm is in a class of its own) but it works and does most not all of the things I want.
I am using postfix to replace send mail and fetchmail to retrive mail, postfix beats sendmail hands down in terms of simplisity to setup, and fetchmail is OK to setup. What I want to know is what is your mail set up and what is its faults.
