God I am glad it didn't come to that, you have no idea how pleased I am that power management works 100% on the Fujitsu with Ubuntu.
Suspend, Hibernate, CPU Throttle, Lid shut actions, Wireless switch (that took some hacking) Thermal management (what there is of it on a Crusoe machine) the lot. When you only have a 1900mAH battery these things are important.
Mind you even with a slightly tired 1900mAH I get 3 hours if I am careful with disk access. Somebody is selling a 4400mAH slot in upgrade on Ebay which would mean I could almost push a full working day...not too shabby for an just over A5 size notebook.
