Are there any ALUG members on the list who have their Linux network connected to the internet via NTL Broadband?
An NTL sales rep rang me last night trying to get me to sign up for their broadband service. Unfortunately I think he was just reading a pre-prepared script as he was unable to answer many technical questions. In particular he was adamant that their cable modem box needed to be connected to a PC running Windows 98 or higher (*NOT* Linux). Has anyone managed to get round this as I would prefer my firewall (the PC on my network which will actually be connected to the NTL box) to continue to be Linux based rather trying to find a Windows based solution.
