The article is about Richard Stallman (pauses to genuflect), I looked it up. The Teenage Hackers book sounds interesting. Amazon has the publisher as Osborne and the author as Dan Verton, is that the one?
As an old timer I get a bit peeved that the word hacker has come to mean someone who deliberately breaks into computer systems, although I've always referred to it as computer hacking myself (well, I'm a human being so I don't have to be logical :o) ). I've always though of anyone who enjoys designing and writing software as a hobby rather than for profit as a hacker (which includes myself :o) ).

There's an interesting article in Computing about an interview with... er... er.. well it must've been good 'cause I've already forgotten his name.. you know the GNU/Linux guy. Anyway read it for yourself if you're interested http://www.computing.co.uk/Features/1133127
I just started to read ' The Hackers Diaries - Confessions of Teenage Hackers'. I'm like 3 chapters in and it is worth a read.
