Hi Paul
Welcome to a whole new world - If you want a small program that will lock up and/or crash any linux system, just shout - I have several here that I'm working on.
My reason for liking Linux - Being able to write drivers for some dedicated hardware without paying through the nose for the devolpment tools and libraries. Plus all the cool apps available to do just about everything I need.
