Thanks everybody maybe I'll attempt that at the next meeting when I can get some help. That's if we are not trying to get a network running. :-)
Cheers,

What wm is it, where can I get it, how do I configure it to do that and
do
any other wms have this facility?
Rite...yup...it probably was me ;) It was IceWM with Gnome, but the transparent terminal was an eterm (as someone...Mark?) has already pointed out...I find these the easiest to configure as its a quick have of one of the Eterm themes (/usr/share/Eterm/themes/Eterm) well...actually...its more copying the trans theme to Eterm and then hacking it to ur preferences :) I used Eterms in WindowMaker and Enlightenment before GNOME so I know that that works :)
Also, if ur interested in a transparent X-Chat window then X-Chat Gnome rocks...it uses the zxvt library (don't ask me ;) but is quite nice (if ur mad like me ;)
Also I tried to load Debian to no avail (major hassles trying to get the
x
server working), I think I still need some hand holding as yet so it's
back
to RH6 which works a treat on my system.
What X Server?
Hope that was of use ;)
