Assuming that you are running a 2.4.x or 2.6.x kernel, a version of glibc written sometime in the last 4 years and LFS support is turned on in the kernel (is by default on every kernel I can think of) then etx2 and ext3 are the same in this respect 4 TB
Otherwise 2 GB, but I don't think it is possible to configure a system than can mount an ext3 partition and not have the above.
However I should add that it does depend on your block size, Looking around the web for a link to a chart now.
