If anyone is interested I can bring along my mini-ITX box that's
configured
for playing DVDs with hardware MPEG decoding and 5.1 sound. It plays
DVDs
with < 5% CPU load.
I'd like to see that and ask you a few questions. I've still not got on with building my planned mythTV PVR.
OK. I tried to get DVD playback working a while ago with no luck, but putting Gentoo 2006.0 and Xorg 7.0 on the mini-ITX box has meant that it all pretty much just worked.
