Sorry, that's a winmodem. If you can get it to work, results are likely to be temporary and have side-effects, in my experience.
Thanks for your reply. I thought it was worth trying to get it working as it did recognise the drivers i installed. I did use a pci hardware modem for a couple of years when i first got on the internet in 1999. Replacing it with a winmodem which i used for about five years trouble free until i got broadband. I have to say that it never let me down with internet connection or faxing - totally reliable i'd say until one uses linux. efax-gtk is a bit poor on the receiving side by comparison.
I bought a couple of serial modems last week... looking around they are only £5 and save any bother. But their flow control is not as good as my winmodem. From what i've learnt so far stick with windows for faxing - and i've used an older version of FaxNow for years (winfax and others not so good).
