The GMA500 gfx chipset is a troublesome beast on linux I have just converted my 751 back to a Windows machine and sold it because I was fed up with potential problems every time there was a kernel upgrade.
I have the same model, and find it a pain as well. I keep hearing that intel might open source the drivers, but I won't hold my breath.
