I'm just keen to know how to set up this 'new' laptop in such a way that I have all the bookmarks this one does, and Thunderbird doesn’t lose my old emails.
I've done this myself recently. I think it's well covered in Thunderbirds (and similarly firefox assuming you use it) help files.
