Ok, maybe I could do a demonstration of how to install Debian on a new PC if anyone has a sacrificial lamb that they would like to bring to the slaughter then let me know! (and no bringing some really obscure hardware just to catch me out!)
I'm bored of having a reliable, useful computer with everything I need. If I can get there with kit, you can try mine. /home is sacred, mind.

OK, there is one condition which applys to everyone, if I do install Debian on your computer then *you* are responsible for backups. I will accept no responsibility for any data loss I will try and preserve any partitions that you want to keep and will try not to overwrite other operating systems (note Win9X is not an operating system IMHO ;-)) but if the worst does happen then I will help you to the best of my ability to restore your data from the working and tested backup that you will have.
Note I'm not saying that I will trash your computer, but accidents do happen and it always seems to be when you are playing with someone elses kit. I have installed many different operating systems in my time on a variety of hardware and have never broke anything (well not to seriously) yet, but there is a first time for everything.
I live just off Unthank Road, Norwich. If anyone's coming from round here and has a bit of room in the boot a lift would be appreciated (real blaggers don't need seats...)
I will be able to give lifts from Norwich, If Alexis takes one seat then there will be two left. Mail me off list for more details.
