I have been reading the threads of this latest IRC meeting and feel I could benefit a grat deal from this. I don't think I could make it EVERY monday evening, or stay for the entire meeting. This is because I am the main carer for my severely disabled wife who has MS, so her needs come first. However, I would like to 'join in' even if it's only to listen and learn.
Right, IRC meetings don't necessarily tend to happen anymore, the IRC channel is busy most weekdays and evenings, so don't feel that you have to join every monday, you could just drop in every time you are free.
So, what is it? And, how do I join?
Right, to join take a look for the software xchat on your machine (i'm working on the basis that you are using evolution as your mail client) and try and follow the clickthrough menus, there is an email sent early on a Monday that includes the details you will need to fill in. Just try to get on #alug on irc.oftc.net or irc.alug.org.uk and we will be nice to you. If you can't do this then send another shout to the mailing list with the specific problem.
