Exactly! Perl abbreviates and defaults so much that it's very difficult to follow what it's doing.

I love the perl motto: There's More Than One Way To Do It which, in my experience, should be: There's More Than One Way To Do It But There's Only One Sensible Way. Unfortunately You Won't Know Which One That Is Until You're Wayyyyy. Down The Line ... :) Peter.
