I keep a few files on my desktop, due to the goodness of Gnome doing icon preview of photos this is quite handy
I find it quite odd, and anoying, when Gnome decides not to do a preview of some photos. I'll load a bunch of photos from my camera, and some of them will stay as generic icons and others will show the preview. What gives?
Try going System > Preferences > File Management then click the preview tab. I'm guessing that the default preview file size is for files smaller than 4 megs (or similar) and your camera is producing files around the 4 megs size some bigger and some larger so they aren't being previewed. (I'm assuming Gnome 2.12.1 btw, although other versions should be similar) Thanks Adam -- jabberid = quinophex@jabber.earth.li AFFS || http://www.affs.org.uk/ || Not a filesystem
