Hi,
Just a note to introduce myself and ask a question...
My name is Joe Frost and I work at a software company based near Saxmundham in Suffolk. We have been using Linux for around 5 years (first Slackware for DNS and Sendmail, then later RedHat 5.1 for QMail, and now RedHat 6.x, Caldera OL 2.x, Turbo Linux 6, and Cobalt appliances for development).
I'm the IT bloke so I have very little to do with coding but get involved extensively in the network, hardware, and OS side of things.
If you want to know more about the company's products then email privately as I don't want to spam the list with that stuff.
Now the OT bit...
I've recently taken it upon myself to try and come up with a Netware 4.x replacement based around Linux (probably RH 6.x), and am looking at using OpenLDAP and PAM for user authentication against the directory to support services like SaMBa, Netatalk, POP3 and IMAP.
I've got quite a bit of stuff working but I would be interested chatting to anyone who has experience with this kind of thing.
Hope to speak to (at least some) of you soon.
Best regards,
Joe Frost I.S. Engineer Omnis Software Ltd.
