Hello,
This is my first posting or contact with you all, I nearly got in touch to come to your meeting but unfortunately I had to clean up after a party the day before,
Anyway I am at work and have been given the job of evaluating linux, I can now ping to and from Linux on my network, telnet into linux, ftp into linux, so I am almost there.
what I cant do is access NT disks, or see linux from NT, I cant get http
To access NT you need to have SMB enabled in the kernel, and see linux from NT you need SAMBA (http://www.samba.org)
access, to this nice little 486, all of which are essential, any suggestions of running a linux box on an TCP/IP based network greatfully accepted
For http you need Apache.
Cheers, Laurie. [ This email came to you via the Anglian Linux User Group list ] [ If you only wish to recieve event announcements, email the ] [ SUBJECT of "unsubscribe" to this list and "subscribe" to ] [ alug-announce@stu.uea.ac.uk -- We do need your support, tho' ]
