Strangely enough, I just got mine going too. And I must say, it kicks
bottom.
Just as a matter of interest Malc which distro are you using and what methos did you use to get the damn thing going?
I broke my linux file system big time yesterday necesitating a reinstall. I was trying to install StarOffice with no sucess. My own fault poking for about loged on as root I suppose, very dangerous! Upshot of the matter is no sound again. :-(
I tried my previous method on a clean install of RH6.0 which doesn't now work. This is exacly the same as I did last time which worked just fine (I know they all say that). I can get the cd player to work but no wave files etc. Strange. I recompiled the kernal adding sound support and loaded the drivers manually forcing them with the -f switch in /etc/conf.modules "install sblive insmod -f sblive". The problem arises when I try to access the mixer I get a warning dialog box with the message "no mixer devices available check sound support is included in the kernel"?? I know that sound support is included in the kernel coz I just recompiled it <doh!>
I'm tempted to get another card but this one is so damn good in Windows that I'm determined to persevere with it until It's going again.
What the * is going on here? I can't see that the setup is anyway different to my previous one which worked really well.
