At the same time using lots more energy ;) I have stopped using all of these clients because they don't just use idle cpu power, most cpus when sitting idle don't draw very much power but when you start sticking the cpu at 100% with one of these clients they put the cpu on a high load and make the room toasty warm and use shedloads more leccy... The fan in my psu is temperature sensitive, and after running any of these clients on my Athlon XP gets the fan up to full speed and noisy after about 10 minutes (there is also a similar effect achieved by playing 3d games)
