There's DemoLinux (French, I think) and another German knoppix-based one in the works that I know of. There are probably others.
I know alot of people who wana try Linux but dont want to install, and they call themselfs C.S. students, pa! ;) Oh thers also one dedicated to playing frozzen bubble allthogh its abit poo. Do u need a WM(like IceWM) to play a fullscreen X windows game?
No, you only need a window manager for X if you want to be able to move or resize the windows. I've previously run web browsers machines without window managers as one way of stopping people from messing up the desktop. If they closed the browser, it just restarted where it was. Of course, I'd do things differently now.
I would have thought that CS students could cope with making a machine dual-boot, though.
