Hi Guys (and of course Ladies),
I'm surprised by the relatively low spec some of you guys are running Linux on. I've got a Celeron powered box with 96mB RAM (Win98/2 word processing box) - I'll have a play and see what happens.
Any of you tinkerers connected a 'doze and Linux box via KVM for quick change one to 'tother?
Yep, good times - specifically I only actually have a copy of windows as a sort of glorified games console - or for trying out the newest games, and I have a tendency to game for 5 minutes to get myself into (and out of) hackmode. I couldn't realistically do the work in windows, and I couldn't let myself boot into it for gaming which is essentially frivolous. Result was one frustrated me.
Ended up hooking up a kvm switch, and a little crossover patch between the two for virus scanning/file transfer etc..
'Twas fun quickly switching between gaming/work for breaks, but in the end of course I purged the beast as it takes up several gigabytes of disk space and I wanted to backup my photos onto that drive.
