Is the mouse active at this point? If so, can you move the box out of the way to allow you to type? Can you login to a console by using Alt-whichever key?
Way back in September 2010, John Woodward was having a problem with a monitor so you might be able to look back at that, presumably you have another machine, and glean some ideas.
No, the mouse isn't active at that point but I'll take a look at John's thread though.
