iirc we were on RedHat 5.1 and copies of Suse 5.0 were being shared. I remember my linux box had RH5.0 and I did an upgrade to 5.1 from a magazine covermount between the 1st and 2nd meetings. I don't think I upgraded to 6.0 until I scrounged a disc at the 3rd meeting at the UEA. P2s were the processor common at the time, my Linux box had an AMD K6-2 550Mhz with 64Mb PC66 ram iirc.
Alug mailing list archive disagrees with you ;)

and I also note from the archives that i'd managed to snaffle a disc with Redhat 6.0 on it :) I wonder if you were thinking of Mandrake 6.0?
I'm not sure which Redhat version I was on at the time, but I have the first boxed set I originally purchased which I will be recovering from storage later this week but I'm fairly sure it was 5.1 or 5.2.
Thats it - shoot that horse his mind is going :-) It may well have been Mandrake, I reckon I upgraded from RH 5.1 to MDK 6.0 between meets then. I seem to remember now that only Mandrake supposedly had the kernel module I needed for the sound card I was using at the time but it wouldn't work and I had to compile my first kernel. I definetly remember Laurie had a Suse 5.0 disk set at alug 1.0 because I was amazed at the amount of cds there were (5 or 6) in the set. I think at the time it was RH 6 with Gnome/Enlightenment or MDK 6 with KDE. Thanks for the memory jog Adam, oh happy days...
