PlusNet are based in Wakefield. They're even promising a normal phone number instead of 0870 later this year.

I'm sorry the original poster got the dumb end of tech support as I have found them better than others, and available 24/7 which is important if the connection dies after 5pm on a Friday before a long weekend.
