I saw from the review at http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/97738/samsung-clp300.html shows that the printer only has a USB connection. Another site said it had optional network connectivity.
So 1) Without network card in the printer. Set up the USB to the XP machine and load the drivers, share the printer. Get the linux laptop setup on the network and use samba to print to the XP machine. This will only happen when the XP machine is switched on.
2) With a network card option in the printer. Set both to print to the IP address of the printer. Easier. No problem! No problem printing from both at once - the printer takes care of it. There *might* be a page of two out of order, but I'm sure you can handle that ;)
