Having seen the recent suggestions for a new 24" I thought I would go ahead and get some input on my issue.
I currently have a 15" CRT but it is too large to put on a new desk, so I therefore need to get an LCD around 15-19" but am unsure as to what to look for regarding models and so forth.
Just a few years ago 1280x1024 was all the rage, but now everything must be wide. If you can get 1920x1080 then you'll future proof your video watching for a while.
Beware of 1920x1080 as opposed to 1920x1200, one is a TV standard and the other is a computing standard and a monitor which is good at one may not be so good at the other.
I *think* that most 23.6" screens are really 1920x1080 and most 24" screens are 1920x1200.
I guess it doesn't matter so much which you go for but converting from one to the other is a 'bad thing'.
