I've been thinking about getting one since they were announced, but I've got to look at it next to my current laptop (A Dell L400) to see if it really is that much better. This looks a nice little machine , what do ya think? and it runs Linux www.asuslaptop.co.uk
I saw some of those last Tuesday (I'll blog more about that soon) and it looks like a very nice little machine indeed. I've seen it advertised slightly cheaper for education, but that might have been a different specification. I think it was running Xandros, but the delivered configuration was trivially root-shell-able (in under 5s). So, who's got one and who's getting one? What's the battery life? I just got a 3 phone (with ssh and mail) instead of a new laptop because it was lighter and more versatile. I must be getting old... -- MJ Ray http://mjr.towers.org.uk/email.html tel:+44-844-4437-237 - Webmaster-developer, statistician, sysadmin, online shop builder, consumer and workers co-operative member http://www.ttllp.co.uk/ - Writing on koha, debian, sat TV, Kewstoke http://mjr.towers.org.uk/ _______________________________________________ main@lists.alug.org.uk http://www.alug.org.uk/ http://lists.alug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/main Unsubscribe?
