My definition would be you are non-newbie when you answer more questions than you ask ;-) (and yes I do ask questions (of course from an AOL account so you don't know how dumb they are ;-))
I think a newbie or config questions (or something like that) list would be a great idea, it would be great to have somewhere that newbies could post any question without risk of being flamed. If the signal to noise ratio is to high for you (as in you are a hardcore hacker) then don't join.
I for one would be quite happy to read the list and reply, although there is an argument (I guess) for saying this is already available in other places (linuxnewbie etc.)
I think it would be better though as it would be more personal to list members who can put names to faces (and I think it could be a good source of chocolate biscuits at meetings... ;-)) and form some good bonds for a Linux user group.
