What's wrong with kppp as a pppd front end? Needs very little tweaking. Had virtually no problems with perhaps fifteen ISPs. Exception being TescoNet. (no great deal). Too lazy to find out why Callnet0800 baulks at a PAP/CHAP login - there seems to be an anomaly with my username suffix. It works fine with a scripted login tho'.
Roll on unsubsidized unmetered net access.
