However, my 3G card (HSDPA USB Stick MF627) appears to connect to the 4 network, but still no data flows. Can anyone tell me where i should start looking?
I've got one of those sticks, it "just works".
Yes, it's always just worked for me in the past.
How are you managing the connection? Network Manager?
Yes.
Are you 100% certain that the settings in there are correct?
I copied them from the Linux Mint 12 setup on my T60....
What happens if you run ifconfig when it says it's working? Has another interface appeared for the data device? Does it have an ip address etc.?
ppp0 Link encap:Point-to-Point Protocol inet addr:94.196.143.233 P-t-P:10.64.64.64 Mask:255.255.255.255 UP POINTOPOINT RUNNING NOARP MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:7 errors:1 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:8 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:3 RX bytes:130 (130.0 B) TX bytes:181 (181.0 B)
Which again is identical, save for RX & TX bytes, as on my T60 where it works/
Also... what is the 4 network? 1 better than Three? :)
Yeah, haven't you heard? ;-)
