(OT - but ALUG appears to include a lot of people with varying skills)
Does anyone know of the machine requirements to handle incoming/outgoing SMS messages? I am guessing a telephone line, modem and basic software to convert incoming SMS calls to text to be stored on the local machine.
I am thinking of a competition like system:
* People are asked to text a number with entry answer * System picks up the number/entry (and stores them in a db)
Competition winner is chosen randomly and informed by outgoing SMS message.
How is this normally done, e.g. radio show comp. entries? Can this be done in Linux?
