Sounds like Gnome Keyring, and something wants to store a key on it.
Any other ideas?
When I installed this just the other day, I got asked for the my user password to allow permission to install the iPlayer desktop - could it be the same? Anyway, I think more info is required. Is the password requested during installation of the iPlayer, or when downloading a program. What version of Linux etc?
