Richard

Nothing happens when the lid is opened again.

No hard drive spinning. No fan noise. No lights change. There are a row of lights under the screen for power/battery/charge/drive activity/caps lock. Only the power light is on.

To turn it off I have to hold down the power button for a few seconds. Then to get it to come on again I have to take the battery out and then pop it back in.

Like I say. It doesn't do it in XP only Xubuntu. It doesn't always do it. 9 out of 10 it will fail to wake, but the odd time it will wake and continue as normal. I had Xubuntu installed a few months ago and it worked fine then. Formatted, installed XP and then Xubuntu and now this problem.
