Present: Jonathan (Noodles), Mark (slef), Brett (iDunno), Martijn (mak), James (mChicago), Ashley (Ashley), Peter Onion (PeterO), Gareth (flux), Mike, Rob, flux' brother Graeme, James W, and Eli/elspeth (sunflowerinrain)
Mike's crimson machine which has refused installs of Redhat, Mandrake, etc. suffered various attempts to install Debian unstable which resulted in it booting into Win98. Brett re-partitioned and de-bootstrapped it and got almost all the way through the process of getting a working Debian before running out of time. Noodles got rid of some of his collection of junk ("anyone want a Psion 3A?") and acquired a printer. Peter's Elliot 803 emulator - the Noise Machine - was much admired, as was J's embryonic museum. Martijn/mak did a Xen demo of virtual machines - VNC onto Fedora and Debian; he also took mugshots with the clever idea of adding names, so we know who we are now.
We had tea, a filter coffee machine and an expresso machine, and many kinds of cake and biscuit, including Rob's home-made bara brith (tea bread, boyo) which was more fruit and nut than cake.
Suddenly time was up and we had to clear up and leave in a hurry. Some people went for fish n chips then on to the Fat Cat, where a Lisa joined us to watch geeks at play; finally a few went to see Constantine and the rest went home.
Good day.

Bog-arses to me for having a migraine from hell (which has been going for about 3 weeks now, if anyone has a cure then there is beer waiting as payment) so not being able to attend sucked (i did try driving, but the migraine aura was too distracting to drive with after a couple of miles so i had to turn home) anyhow, glad to hear that everyone had a good time.
BTW, is Constantine shit or not? the trailers look 50/50

Have you tried makingh a tisane from feverfew leaves? It's not entirely unpleasant, and tends, if taken daily, to prevent migraines. It's not a lot of good as a cure, I undestand. But for a long-standing one, it might work after a bit.
My mother used to get migraines, so her garden was always well-stocked with feverfew. Once there, it's self-propagating, and you never need worry about replanting. The bonus is that seedlings which appear where you don't want them are easy to remove.

Who Constantine?

Ah. I've actually *HEARD* of Keanu Reeves - but I couldn't put a face to him. Last film I went to see was when I took my mother's two Saturday gardening boys to see Home Alone II - or it may have been Sister Act - so you can tell how often I tend to go to the flics.

People I know who've seen it said it was good. So long as you are not expecting a slow paced, grey, turn-of-the-last-century, country detective story ...

Even better - I have FlashBlock enabled.
