whois gives you information about a domain, not about people. So you would call the program like: $ whois gmail.com but I'm not sure this is what you wanted. perfectly correct answer. whois looks up domain records. So "whois gmail.com" would get you a (very unhelpful) answer. So does a google in "mcfmarketing3". Nevertheless, such a google often brings up a lot of info about what/who's behind an email address. Now, however, google on "mcfmarketing".
