I have just installed IceWM on my system and like it. I can run IceWM ok if I make /etc/X11/xinitrc a symbolic link to xinitrc.icewm and use startx however I would prefer to run kdm and have IceWM appear in the "Session Type" list on the kdm login screen. Does anyone know how to add IceWM to this "Session Type" list?
Thanks,
Ian.

The easiest way is to run KDE and use KDE Control Centre - System Administration - Login Manager - Sessions
You'll need to be Root.

Thanks for that Barry. I have tried that, and IceWm does now appear in the "Session Type" list on the kdm login screen, but if I select it when I login KDE still starts instead of IceWM.

I have IceWm in my KDM list and it runs if I select it. Do you have 'icewm' in lower case? If so you could try restarting KDM [dredging the memory here :-) ].
I'm using KDE3 - which version are you using?
