That's very similar to the wrong HCI drivers problem I had on the other machine here.
AFAICS the ohci drivers should not work but i may give it a go in a while, just we need the line up by this evening... so I may have to resort to windows and proxy...
There are two UHCI driver modules in the main kernel.

Yes there are, and if you build one into the kernel then the other one is not listed in the kernel config so I didn't see that until i unselected teh wrong one!
