I wrote the line suggested by Mark into my /etc/fstab file, and made a new directory `floppy' in both the root and user home directories, but on trying to mount the floppy I received the message `mount, mount point /floppy does not exist'. The failure of the other entries I made were usually due to the same failure.
There must be something blindingly obvious I've missed somewhere, if someone feels able to point me in the right direction I'd be extremely grateful.
