Just a last minute reminder about tonight's ALUG meeting ...
Wayne, if you need anything else from me (stuff installed on PC, if you need it etc.), let me know!
Peter.
No should be fine, Had a bit of a disaster with the laptop I was planning to use for the demo on Saturday morning, it suddenly developed a resistance to doing anything useful. Tools that I generally find work reliably started crashing, hard lockups on certain operations (always repeatable if I try and download updates with anything other than aptitude)
Fortunately a quick hard drive swap into my main laptop (which usually runs vista) and a bit of tweakage to Xorg got me working again (thank goodness they were both SATA)
Dunno what is wrong my my other machine though (passes memtest86+)..it has never been that happy with Linux (evil via unichrome chipset, avoid on a laptop at all costs) but now it is unstable to the point of not really being usable.

The tables have turned then - last month it was me without a machine capable of doing much, having only just got it out of the box. This time, I'll be the one capable of starting up wireless!! haha!
:)
I'll install Kino, anyway, just in case you have any more last minute issues ... and perhaps borrow a projector from work, in case we can find a use for it.
Peter.

Sorry, folks. I can't make this one.
Cheers, Laurie.
Just a note to say, I've added meeting notes for Monday's Ipswich meet to the wiki:

Wayne, I've tried to summarise your video / DVD walk-through and point to the relevant apps you demonstrated. You might want to check it over tho and amend, as necessary - like adding the version numbers of the apps you used, or any that I missed. Maybe you could also throw up a link to the end movie, though I expect MoinMoin won't embed it without some help from someone with admin access to the web server.
I think I remembered everyone who turned up but - it's a wiki - so if any other attendees have more ppl or discussions to add, feel free!
Cheers,
Peter.
