Ahem, he said the NV driver that came with X, not the POS ones from nvidia.com. As long as AGP isn't disabled, it should work fine. I have an entirely healthy bias against the nvidia.com drivers from past experiences.

But the NVdriver *is* the proprietary Nvidia one, there is no module/driver needed if you run the one included within X windows, except why you would want to I don't know, else how are you going to play Quake III?
Anyhow I have been using the NVidia drivers since the original release and have never had any problems with them ever, the only problem is though that they are not open source =(
