Has anyone used smbfs with autofs? I don't think I remember seeing it done, but automatically mounting selected windows shares could be useful sometimes.

Altough the normal process may not be to use autofs. AFAIK it is not possible to use a smbfs filesystem other than automounted - it gets mounted when you do the initial 'mount' but the server end can drop the connection to the client whenver it feels like and then the client will auto-reconnect next time that filesystem gets used.
Or is that not whay you meant?
